Kathie Malarkey: Her Natural Habitat

Kathie MalarkeyCommunity volunteers who support their neighbors increase the value of homes in the community while also increasing their own leadership skills

Quite a few of our realtors at Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate | Executive Partners donate their time and resources to support various community causes in addition to being active members of numerous civic organizations. We know that we can make a difference in our community. This month, we feature our very own Kathie Malarkey, Realtor.

In 2012, Kathie joined Leadership North Augusta to become more involved in her community. Leadership North Augusta chose the North Augusta High School mentoring program as a special project.

Kathie’s suggestion for the class project was to help Habitat for Humanity. Even though this project was not chosen, Kathie still felt she could help, so she volunteered to help Habitat for Humanity obtain applicants.

Kathie spent several months visiting area churches and delivering applications. At the end of March 2013, the Family Selection Committee visited two qualified families and selected one who moved in their new home this past January.

During 2013, Kathie was selected to join the Board of Habitat for Humanity. She is serving as the Family Selection Committee Chair. She also aids the Site Selection Committee in locating land, and conducting research and market analysis. In addition to her involvement with Habitat, Kathie is a mentor at an area high school and a team leader for the Alpha course at Vineyard Church of Augusta. At left is a photo of Kathie receiving donated bottled water from Vineyard Church of Augusta for use by Habitat for Humanity. The church donated 14,000 bottles of water to Habitat for Humanity at Kathie’s request.

Kathie is married to Charlie Malarkey, and they have four children.

Kathie has been a Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate | Executive Partners realtor since 2005.

Well done, Kathie!
